Our Story

Well the old adage of ‘A change is as good as a rest’ is certainly true for the both of us! We’d like to give you some background as to why we are undertaking this new direction. Some of you will know us previously and for some it will be the first time you have come across us, so we thought we’d give you some background to how we have arrived here! Up to 2019 we ran a very successful business operating out of an old school on the Spalding Marshland. The business was split into two distinct parts, one was a residential training course, where students would study to achieve the highest level of qualification possible (arguably the best in the country) and the second was a bespoke tool business, …and it’s sort of, in a roundabout way, what has led us to where we are today.

After running our business for over 25 years we both thought we’d like to step gently into retirement. Our businesses were successful, so we decided to sell both of them as running concerns. These are now owned and run by new owners and continue to thrive, in fact one of the new ownwers moved the business all the way to Cumbria – lock, stock and barrel.

So we settled into early retirement, but we found it’s not all it’s cracked up to be – after sipping yet another glass of Chateauneuf Du Pape and enjoying a few good holidays we found we were kicking our feet and looking for something to do that we both had a strong interest in that would fulfil our passion and enthusiasm.

Again as some of you will know, many of our tools for our previous businesses were made in India, over the last 25 years we have made many many friends and the network of people we know there is extensive! Not only did we obtain our tools from people that became our good friends, (we even ran a few trips there), additionally we had our eyes opened up to the magnificent handmade crafts that were available that few people would have access to as these are not normally exported due them being very often one of a kind.

We rapidly realised there is a market for these wonderful very unique items, these range from wooden furniture, cushion covers, shawls, scarfs, mirrors and so much more – the majority of the items we import a very unique, often one-offs that can’t be replicated even if we wanted to!

So please have a look at our website and feel free to contact us if there is anything you’d like to ask or find out if we can do – obviously many of our products are unique – so they will not be there very long!

…..and we now also attend many of the local craft fairs, so keep an eye open for when we will be near you hopefully in the future.
